🍯 Mézes kuckó (translates to honey corner) is a true Budapest treasure, with a history as sweet as its products! First opened as a candy store in 1939, it has been a haven for generations of honey and gingerbread lovers. My personal favorites are the orange and sour cherry gingerbread classics, but there’s so much more to explore: They offer farmer's honey in many varieties (try the chestnut one for a rich bitterish flavor); propolis (a natural bee product known for its antibacterial properties); and royal jelly (a nutrient-rich substance produced by bees, often used for health and skincare).
